More Hun Concepts
This is another image I shot to Paul for the upcoming Hun story. This is certainly not final, as Paul has this ridiculously cool ability to take whatever crap I scribble out and make it into something that oozes all kinds of amazing.
When I wrote Hun's reappearance, I wrote it fairly straightforward. He's big and has lots of tats. I didn't go into any detail with them really. I had a vague idea of what would be symbolically cool to have on his body, but nothing set in stone, and nothing definite in terms of visuals. Paul asked me what ideas I had for the tattoos and I roughed this out. As I said, it's NOT what is going to be in the final product (and knowing Paul, it's going to be pretty far from it visually, although the core IDEA I want to get across will probably still be there).
Take a gander:

Tales #50 FINALLY out!
After a weird distributing error on behalf of Diamond last week, which saw only a handful of stores in the United States and across the globe get their copies, Tales of the TMNT #50 has finally hit the shelves!
I must thank those who have read it so far and let me know what they thought (Greg, Tok, looking your way... and to those who got through to me via email and The Technodrome!), as this story, while rather different from the last, has a lot of home in it (literally!), so I'm glad people have liked it so far!
I'm still hammering out these Ghostbusters images and there are some pretty exciting ideas coming along with them, but I'll get on to them once all this (ever expanding) illustrative work starts to wrap up...

Monsterism #60

Monster: Tyrannosaurus Rex
Movie: The Planet of Dinosaurs
Movie: The Planet of Dinosaurs
I should probably feel some form of shame for the simple fact that I love this movie. It's awful. Really, really awful, but the dinosaur stop-motion effects are some of the best! Keeping up with the theme, here's the Jaws-esque T-Rex from this god-awful movie.

Monsterism #59
Monster: Tyrannosaurus RexMovie: King Kong
Before the T-Rex in Jurassic Park came along, this was my favourite movie Dinosaur. I was always bummed that Kong beat the absolute Christ out him, but was thrilled every time I saw this sequence. The above shot is my favourite kind of shot -- you see something threatening at a distance and there's that moment of uncertainty as to whether or not it's seen you. Wrong Turn (say what you want) and Alien are both great examples of films where this same sort of thing happens, and it always scares the shit out of me for some reason. It's like there's time to get away, but you're not sure what these things are capable of. I dunno, my brain is starting to leak...

Monsterism #58

Monster: Tyrannosaurus Rex
Movie: Jurassic Park
Movie: Jurassic Park
For me, this is the best movie monster of all time. Nothing will ever beat this for me. Even with the technology they had in King Kong, which has more than ten years on this movie, the T-Rex her reigns supreme. Spinosaur Shminosaur!

Can't... Contain... Fangasm...!
Paul has already started work on Tales of the TMNT #56, the issue that introduces Hun into the Mirage continuity, and I couldn't be more excited. I'm actually more excited about the next two stories than I was about my first issue, and MORE excited than I was when I was told I could bring the Turtles to Australia (this week's issue!).
You've seen my concept bit of Hunter "Hun" Mason, now here's a glimpse of Paul's first rough.

Tales #50 On Shelves This Wednesday!
Dan has told me that their copies of TMNT #50 have hit Mirage, meaning that it is definitely hitting shelves this week!
Can't wait! Tell your friends to order a copy! Order a copy for someone else! Let's make this sucker sell out!
Hey, I can dream right?

Cereal Domination
Absolutely dominated some Cereal:Geek illustrations today and really happy about it too! I finished the art for the Tobin's Spirit Guide sections for the Boogeyman, He Who Walks for All Others (from the Bustman's Holiday episode), The Phantom (Sticky Business), Watt (Mrs. Rogers' Neighborhood), Ghash (Slimer, Come Home!) The Sandman (Mr. Sandman, Dream Me A Dream) and my personal favourite, The Grundel.
Also got on top of a couple of Dino-Riders illustrations and a big Care Bears one too, both lots I'm also really happy with! Check a couple of posts below for a sneak at Beastly!

BEASTLY!!
Noheart was the business.
Here's something I'm working on at the moment. Been busy. REAL busy for a number of reason, not all of which are good or productive unfortunately. But you take the good with the bad, so here's a little of both in something I'm in love with right now.

The World According to Dan aka #50 Release Date
My good friend and boss (not sure too many people can say that these days) Dan Berger has informed me that Tales #50 is due at Diamond on the 16th of Sept. which means it should be hitting the shelves that week, if not sooner (depending on how fast Brenner get it printed).
Been hyper-busy this week so sorry about the lack of updates.
