Interview

Man, it's been a busy past few days... Started back up at uni, so assignments are coming in now, also had a tonne of writing to do. Looks like I might be doing two more regular writing stints -- one over at Comicon.com's "The Pulse" and the other at TMNT25.com.au -- so I'll let you all know when they go up.

Anyway, here's a link to an interview I did with Jen, over at "The Pulse". Pardon my rambling, I hope it's interesting at least... Get posting over there! Get people talking over on those boards! You want more TMNT, it's all about the word of mouth people!

Oh, speaking of word of mouth...

I'm on twitter.

So is Mirage now.

And here's another review for #56

A Couple of Neat Things...

The Aussie TMNT website is now live and looks fantastic! Check that out here!

Tales #56 is in the spotlight over at TMNT25.com now too! Yay!

I also just finished up a pretty hefty interview over at The Pulse this morning (been up since 2 am), so I'll shout when that goes live. Pretty interesting questions (for me at least), though I'm still kinda fresh to the whole interview thing so hopefully it's all good! Also, keep an eye out over that way, because I'll be writing a series of columns about the Mirage Universe over there in the near future.

Really, excited -- I get my first taste of the interiors for #59 soon too! Oh, and Andres cover for #61 looks like it'll be pretty f@#kin' mad too!

IGN Comics Digs It

IGN Comics just reviewed Tales of the TMNT #56, so click here to check that one out! Thanks to everyone who let me know!

New Review for #56

The first release day review for Tales #56! Raises some very valid points, too. Beware spoilers too! If you want to read it but haven't read the actual book, scroll right down until you hit the Notes section.

Thanks Spengs!

It's Here!

I don't really need to say it, but I will...

Tales #56 is in stores now. Go get it, let me know what you thought, be it good or bad (I'm a man, I can take it), hit every message board or online community that you're a part of and get them talking about it too! If you've got questions, I'll answer what I can.

For the TMNT fans, if you have the soundtrack to the first movie, most of this was written to the second half of the Shredder's Suite. The rest was written to the Dark Knight soundtrack and Sin City's score. I always love listening to scores when I read comics, and I figure there's gotta be someone else out there...

Anyway, hope you all enjoy it!

Hopefully everything goes to plan, but it looks like Paul and I will be interviewed over at The Pulse. Gotta be up at 4 in the morning for it (sweeet... gotta make sure I'm not a complete corpse...) as time differences are a bitch ;)

Also, it looks like Comic Book Resources will be doing a something for #56 tomorrow too, not sure what yet though (thanks to Dragon Turtle on that one too!). I'll give everyone a heads up when that happens.

Finally, this is cool too and people should go over there and make a big fuss on their message boards (they can't be any more nightmarish than they are already right?): The comics dude over at AICN is telling you to buy #56!

Get over there and tell them to also get ready for #59.

Bit of a Rollercoaster of a Day

Woke up this morning strangely early. Like 4:30 early. Bad sign. Got up, had breakfast, watched some cartoons and got all the layouts ready for the Cereal:Geek "Tobin's Spirit Guide" pages (fans of the cartoons should definitely dig it). While I was doing this, I found out I missed out on a job I really wanted. Kinda demoralizing, but I was ready for it. This put me into like a weird neutral for most of the day. Had to run to my first Film Studies class, which was cool -- met a dude I used to study writing with in a course I started straight out of high school, so that was a good catch up and then also caught up with a good friend I'd made the year before at uni.

Got home, did some more Spirit Guide stuff, then Photoshop kacked its guts and I lost an entire Werechicken (good couple of hours work). Drew some Care Bears (yes... you read it right), did some scripting and then headed back to uni for a lecture. Fell asleep. Woke up. Left, went and picked up my comics from my mate and went home. Still in like a weird neutral mode.

Read a couple of comics, then went and met a friend for dinner and stayed over there for a bit which was good, kinda took my mind of what a weird day it'd been. Left around 10:30, only to find my car battery had died. Felt terrible for keeping friend up while I waited for my brother to bring some jumper leads around (dude's a nightowl). He arrived, I jumped the car and the next thing I know it's 1:21 am Thursday morning.

In the downtime between writing near fatal beatings at the hands of ridiculously large men and mutants, here's a taster of what's been happening...

Also been getting into a band called Bromheads Jacket. Pretty rockin'!

IDW + Rocketeer!

IDW are putting out a collected and retouched (read: coloured) Rocketeer book! I had all the Rocketeer comics when I was little (including the Pacific Presents and one of the Starslayers books -- found the other one years later) and loved everything about the character, so this is exciting for me (most of my Rocketeer stuff is in terrible shape)!
