It's Like Being Little All Over Again!

As exciting as this is, I'm still happiest about owning my own complete DVD set of the Real Ghostbusters.

Are you familiar with the fact that Gozer's original form was supposed to be a sharply dressed man in a business suit? Looks like Walter Peck is getting possessed. Is he being possessed by just some random ghost, or is it... the Destructor?

I slowed down the footage and it looks like one of the long haired spooks you see in earlier, high-angled shot. I could be wrong, because it's very quick.

If you haven't already, track down the making of Ghostbusters book! It has the final shooting script, deleted scenes and dialogue, annotations by Dan, Harold, Ivan and Joe Medjuck and a whole slew of other neat tidbits, including all the Gozer designs!

I don't have that book (shame on me) but that's where I found out about an earlier version of Gozer's first form. Also that after Mr. Stay Puft there was supposed to be a horrific, corpsy form - would have been neat, but unecessary as Gozer is more impressive sci-fi if it has no one true shape at all.

There's also some Lovecraftian gate designs for Gozer's portal. See, this is why I'm so adamant that Ghostbusters isn't just a comedy about the supernatural, but Lovecraft in particular for a lot of elements.

Please let this be delayed not at all any more. Pleeeeease!

Though that said, it always gets my goat when Ecto has the No-Ghost logo on her hood. It always makes me think of cheap toys made by folks too lazy to do the research.

That said, it could be a reference to the original GB computer game...
