Creator Owned!

I'm very excited to report that my first creator owned effort has finally taken off! Posted are very rough designs for key characters in a yet to be titled Western horror book. The extremely talented Italian artist Dario Folliero (dfolliero.blogspot.com) sent me these this a couple of hours ago after receiving the first part of the script earlier today. I'm really excited about this! My current immediate projects are now The Return of the COWBoys of Moo Mesa, this, and Tyrant Earth, which also looks like it will have an attached artist very soon!

More as it comes! Fingers crossed everyone!

No-one as of yet. From what I've gathered it's easier to sell a finished product than a pitch, so once it's near complete, Image, Dark Horse, and a few other smaller publishers open to more adult material. I've got a couple of Aussie publishers interested as well, so we'll see how it goes.

-->> ( i'll email ya ina minute )..

And no i know what Manitou means .. it's a Native American.

I'm asking.. cuz there is a small city called 'Monitou Springs' just outside of the jack- ass city i live in.

It's somewhat a home away from home ( tho' it's just outside where i live ) ..and i grew up there allot.

It now is the home of one the greatest poster artists in the world Jermaine Rogers. and the only place in southern Colorado with a working TMNT in TIME game !!

.. maybe i can take you guys there someday . It can be beyond pleasant.

-->> Here.. damm wiki cuz i'm cheap .. ::

Manitou is a term used to designate the spirits among many Algonquian groups. It refers to the concept of one aspect of the interconnection and balance of nature/life, similar to the East Asian concept of qi; in simpler terms it can refer to a spirit.

..

there is a ' Spiritual ' element to Manitou Springs, it is known for "otherworldly - ness " and there is allot of activity regarding the natural arts, Wicca, and naturopathic homeopathic medicines, Ect. .

Specifically .. it's known for it's mineral water which is still made available thru' natural springs and some man-made contraptions throughout the city.

For WELL OVER 100 years that water has been claimed and known for it's healing effects and overall well - being to health when it is ingested.

That's the vague, wikipedia entry isn't it? ;)

I'm playing around a bit, the Indians in this will be a fictional tribe, but the Manitou here is more in line with the one in that old episode of The X-Files... "Shapes"

-->> ..well i only pasted part of it.

Shoulda figured you'd be all ' Manitou ' cuz oif your X-files kick as of recent.

The ' Springs ' also is reported allot of "Spiritual Activity" .. the old haunted Spa Building, reported built on Native land .. and old haunted castles. Even one where a priest haunts this old mansion and the place is now open to the public.

It's a pretty funky ol' section of this state.

Supposed to meet Flukeman for a pint later on Friday.

The new movie got me watching the show again, but this story's been cooking for a long time now. It began as just a straight-up, action-horror-western. Cowboys and werewolves. But then I started looking for more logical ways of making it happen, and the Skin-walker , Garou, Wendigo and Manitou myths all presented themselves. The manitou is the best to use, as it's an undefined animal spirit, open to interpretation and context.
