Say what you want about Spielberg, but I love the guy. He's delivered more consistently great films that can be watched repeatedly than any other director and he can put his hand to any genre and make an awesome film. Case in point - War of the Worlds. He did an absolutely fantastic job with this film. I'm a big fan of the original and the book so seeing this brought to life in the way it was was really great. He made what is, essentially, a war drama, grounding the unbelievable in a fantastic way. The moments above really managed to capture a disturbing sense of both fear and curiosity in a way that I loved!

By the way, this is the real monsterism #43...
