Clayface

Clayface is one of my favourite Bat-villains, mainly because of what they did in the animated series. I like the idea of Clayface in the comics, but they really managed to hit the nail on the head in the cartoon. I think the character needs a rewrite in the comics universe to bring him out of the B/C-list. If I ever got a shot at Batman, bet your balls (or whatever) I'd jump straight onto Clayface!

I love Clayface! I would agree that the Animated Series version is the best version of the character (even though it is actually an amalgamation of all the different comic clayfaces).

Steve Niles and Kelley Jones are using him in that new "Gotham After Midnight" series, so i am curious to see how that turns out but with Jones drawing it you know it will definetly look awesome.

nice sketch btw.

Thanks dude! I'm getting GAM, but I haven't had a chance to sit down and read it properly yet.

Yeah, that's the reason I love the animated one over the comics version, it takes the best parts of all the Clayfaces and makes it one solid character. I was a little bummed when I found out there were all these other Clayfaces back when I started getting into the Bat books. Still, there have been some great Clayface stories, and I'm a big sucker for characters with identity issues! Can you guess who my favourite Marvel villain is?

Thanks too, it was almost going to go up on my other blog, because it was something I just scribbled out in class one day...

Ron Perlman's performance really helped lend the character its legs, along with the writing for that series.

Yeah, Paul Dini is among my favourite writers of all time. Really, really nice guy too! Can't wait to see what he does with Hush -- it's about time someone did something with him!
